As it turns out, in a discussion with your colleague Daisuke Okuda, the XML to be used needs a root tag <BizAgiWSParam> with a capital A not lowercase a. Using the above code will result in a Null Pointer Exception, or a HTTP 400 Bad Request in the AsString case.
