Bizagi Process Modeler Menu

Bizagi Process Modeler allows users to diagram, document and share their business processes in a standardized way. The Modeler uses the BPMN (Business Process Management Notation), a worldwide standard that enables the design of simple and complex processes for multidisciplinary teams.

The Modeler’s menu is found at the top of the Bizagi Process Modeler. In this article you will find a description of its four options (Home, Format, View and Export/Import).



Home

Home option of the Bizagi Modeler has the following functionalities:

Clipboard

This option allows the user to copy, cut and paste shapes and texts in the diagram.

Model

Image:Bulletazul.gif Validate: This menu verifies the consistency of the process diagram. If any errors are found, a warning message will be displayed.



If the diagram contains any errors, a window will be displayed at the bottom of the work area with the list of errors of the process indicating the description of the error, in addition to a confirmation window.

Click on Accept in the confirmation window to access each entry on the list. Double click on an entry to be pointed to the shape where the error was found.



Validations Made When the Process is Verified:


Error

There can be no more than one Start element in the diagram

The Start element cannot have any incoming transitions

The Start element should have one or more outgoing Sequence Flow transitions

The End element must have at least one incoming Sequence transition

The End element cannot have any outgoing transitions

The incoming transitions of the Gateway elements must only be Sequence type

The Gateway elements must have outgoing transitions

The outgoing transitions of Gateway elements must be Sequence type

Compensation Activities can only have one incoming Compensation transition

Compensation Activities cannot have any outgoing transitions

Sub-Processes cannot have more than one Exception transition

Sub-Processes cannot have more than one Cancellation transition

Sub-Processes cannot have any outgoing Compensation associations

Other Activities cannot have any Compensation, Exception, Cancellation or Event transitions

The Text Annotation can only have one Relationship connector

Shapes must be within the phase and lane area

Shapes cannot be at the end of a phase or a shape

All transitions must be properly connected

An Exception or Cancellation association must be associated with a Transactional Sub-process

A Relationship-type association can only connect one Text Annotation with another element in the diagram

A compensation association can only start in an Automatic or User Activity or when another Activity ends

There can be no more than one transition between two shapes (in the same direction)

Formatting

All the options found in this menu are designed to give the desired format to texts and shapes in the diagram.


Show / Hide

Image:Bulletazul.gif Show grid: when checked a grid is shown to facilitate the user the alignment of shapes in the drawing of the diagram.

Image:Bulletazul.gif Align to grid: When checked, the created shapes will be aligned to the grid, having restrained movement. If the option is not checked, the shapes can be dragged and dopr freely.

Image:Bulletazul.gif Smart align: when checked the created shapes will be aligned so the sequence flows are straight.

Image:Bulletazul.gif Black and white: All the diagram will be in black and white

Image:Bulletazul.gif Presentation Actions: When checked, the shapes that contain Presentation Action will be highlighted.

Editing

Image:Bulletazul.gif Find: Allows the user to find and replace texts in the diagram

Image:Bulletazul.gif Select: this tool allows the user to select shapes in the diagram.



Image:Bulletazul.gif Clear: this tool allows the user to delete selected elements or to clear any text format restoring to the default format.

Image:Bulletazul.gif Workflow Properties: This function allows to view all the process properties and its configuration.

Format

This options allows the user to align all shapes in the diagram as desired.



View

Zoom


Image:Bulletazul.gif Zoom in: Enables the user to enlarge the process diagram.

Image:Bulletazul.gif Zoom Out: Enables the user to shrink the process diagram.

Image:Bulletazul.gif Fit Diagram: Enables the user to fit all the diagram into the screen

Image:Bulletazul.gif Pan: Opens a window with the miniature view of the diagram, without the details of the shapes.


View

Image:Bulletazul.gif Lock: When selected the diagram will be locked and no changes can be done. Additionally, if there are Presentation Actions configured small icons will be displayed at the side of the shapes to open them.

Show / Hide

This is the same menu described in the Home Menu

Export / Import

Every process diagrammed and documented in Bizagi Process Modeler can be shared with your team in many different ways. Diagrams and all their documentation can be opened in Presentation Mode; they can be Exported to images, Word, PDF, Visio and XPDL files. They can also be Published to SharePoint, the Web and Wiki.

Image:Bulletazul.gif Attachments: Lists all the attachments of the diagram that have been included in the Presentation Actions.


Image:Bulletazul.gif Element count: Displays a table counting all the objects included in the diagram.
