About Oracle Data Provider for .NET
Overview
Bizagi uses the Oracle Data Provider for .Net (ODP.NET) client to connect to Oracle databases, either when Oracle is used as Bizagi's database (applies for the Enterprise .NET and JEE Edition), or also when an Oracle database is integrated to Bizagi's solution as an external data source (while using Virtualization or Replication).
Take into account that Virtualization and Replication are integration methods supported by all editions in Bizagi (Enterprise .Net, Enterprise JEE and Bizagi Xpress).
The Oracle Data Provider for .Net is installed when downloading (and installing) the Oracle Data Access Components (ODAC). Bizagi requires the ODAC 11g release (which supports connectivity with Oracle 10g R2 databases, and includes support for Windows 7 and 64-bit platforms as well).
Note: Take into account that the Oracle database version supported by Bizagi as its "process database" is Oracle 10g R2 (this applies for the Enterprise editions). While using Virtualization or Replication for integration with Bizagi, the external Oracle databases supported are any of the following versions: 9i, 10g R2, 11g R1 or 11g R2. |
Choosing the appropiate ODAC
The ODAC component can be download directly from Oracle's websites.
If you are using a 64-bit Bizagi Enterprise version, download the 11.2.0.3.0 x64 Release.
For this, visit http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/windows/downloads/index-090165.html.
If you are using Bizagi Xpress, or a 32-bit Bizagi Enterprise version, download the 11.1.0.7.20 32-bit Release.
For this, visit http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/visual-studio/downloads/index.html.
ODAC installation can be needed on different servers or machines, regarding on how will a connection to your Oracle database is handled. The following table illustrates where it is required to install ODAC, according to the feature that will be used in Bizagi.

Note: Notice that end users do not need to install this component on their workstations. End users access Bizagi's work portal, which only requires a browser. |
ODAC system requirements and detailed instructions to install it, are found at Oracle's websites:

Installing ODAC
Once you run the installer, in the Select a Product to Install window, select the ODAC for Oracle Client:
Then, in the Available Product Components window, it is necessary to select the ODP.NET component (this is the only required component by Bizagi):
